The year ended with a special gift for us in the Mid-Atlantic States: The Blizzard of 2010. It's not the heaviest snowfall I've ever seen, but it's the most snow we've had in a few years.

Most of these photos were taken on 12/29, three full days after the snowfall. The snow is gradually being removed in dump trucks. We're still digging out with some motorists just giving up. I also put together a photo gallery

The Brown University community convened for the 242nd Commencement Brown President Ruth Simmons at First Baptist Church Ceremonyon Morgan Freeman receives honorary degree at Brown UniversitySunday May 30, 2010. I was very impressed by the demeanor of President Ruth J. Simmons, who managed great dignity without appearing pompous.

Wayland Arch Welcome Back to BrownThe Brown University class of 1980 returned to campus on Providence Trolley to Fox Point and College HillMemorial Day weekend 2010 for 3 days of parties, events, parties and more parties. I took an interminable Greyhound bus from NYC - scheduled for 4 hours, but took 6. Then I hopped the (new since 1980) trolley bus to College Hill.

Festivities kicked off at the Alumni Cocktail Party on Friday evening, where I reunited with Mike Guzy, Nate Flynn, Barbara Weiss, Rick Brissendon, Betsy Berg, Jonathan Schwartz.

I stopped by the table for the class of '50 and congratulated them. They asked, "For what?" and I told them, "For being here - I'm only halfway there!"
