| Hi Randall, Thanks for contacting LinkedIn with your questions. Your account is currently restricted because of the photo you have on your profile. If your Javascript is enabled you should be able to upload a photo. If it does not work on one browser try a different one. Once you get the photo changes your account will be unrestricted. If you have further questions, please feel free to reply to this message. Travis LinkedIn Customer Support |

Stop fucking up my LinkedIn account

I created an "obamicon" from a webcam self-portrait on January 23, 2010 and it's the photo I use on Twitter, Facebook, drupal.org etc.
LinkedIn has removed the photo from my profile, despite my protest that it is an integral part of my identity on the web and an actual photo of me. Now I cannot even upload another photo.
The LinkedIn User Agreement specifically prohibits:
25. Upload a cartoon, symbol, drawing or any content other than a head-shot photograph of yourself in your profile photo;
You can send an email to Customer Support on my behalf: linkedin_support@cs.linkedin.com

| Hi Randall, Thank you for your return message. The photo was removed because it was in violation of LinkedIn's policy. I understand that you may have the same poster/photo on other sites. They have their own guidelines. The User Agreement states that you may not upload a cartoon, symbol, drawing or any content other than a photograph of yourself in your profile photo. Thank you for sharing your comments on how we can make LinkedIn better. Feedback from members like you provides us with many insights that identify the needs of our customers. I sent your message to our research and development team for review and consideration in future developments. Although every idea cannot be individually responded to or implemented, please know that we do monitor suggestions quite closely for recurring themes. I would like to invite you to follow us on Twitter ( http://twitter.com/linkedin ) or subscribe to the LinkedIn Blog ( http://blog.linkedin.com ) to receive the latest notifications on site improvements. Both options are great ways to stay informed about new releases and exciting work going on behind the scenes here at LinkedIn. Thank you for being a valued member of our LinkedIn community! | I have complained before that the photo you removed is an actual photo of myself and it's my photo on my other web accounts including Facebook http://www.facebook.com/people/Decibel-Places/100000187748486 Twitter http://twitter.com/decibelplaces Drupal.org http://drupal.org/user/58977 and many more web communities and I don't know if it's related, but I am unable to select experts from my contacts when I answer questions, or to forward a question to selected contacts - the widget comes up with 0 contacts http://netsperience.org/content/blog/errors-and-inconsistencies-linkedin |
