My New Baby: 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display

I've been shopping for a new application development laptop for my consulting business - my 3 year old HP is slowly coming apart, and the vertical lines appearing on the screen were the last straw.

I'm biting the bullet and drinking the MacBook Pro Kool-Aid - but I will set up a triple boot: Mac OS, Ubuntu (my work env), Windows 8. I never liked the Mac UI.

13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display
$2,728.00
Configuration
3.0GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
1TB Flash Storage

I bought direct from Apple, I didn't want to mess around with other dealers. And I applied for the Barclays Apple Rewards card - at first they said I was only approved for $2000 credit. I told them that didn't cover the purchase, I would just put it on one of my other cards. So they reviewed my credit and reduced my limit to $1000 - I told them that was bullshit cancel my application, and paid with another card.

I looked at a couple of PCs, but with fast processors, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD drives, they were about the same price as a MacBook Pro.

Most of my colleagues in the Drupal community use MacBooks - and most of them sneer when someone asks them to check something in Windows - but I need it for my Enterprise clients, I can't tell them, "Wait until I get home on my other machine..." so that's why I got a large drive. I got a good deal on Windows 8.1 Pro dvd on Amazon - about $25 less than buying from Microsoft, and it's not the OEM crap, just a clean install.
