amny reports that New York City is considering importing a newly discovered giant pitcher plant from the Phillipines (Nepenthes attenboroughii) that is capable of trapping and devouring large rodents including rats.
Although botanist Susan Pell stated that the plant is "not going to take care of the rats" the City is planning to genetically engineer them to create plants large enough to devour homeless people and tourists.
Chihuahua owners are advised to keep their pets on the leash.
